Racketball, Handball, Tennis

If you wear your glasses for seeing at a distance, then you should wear them for most sports. The lens correction makes a sharper image inside the eye on the retina, this improves depth perception, and improved depth perception improves sports performance.

EYE INJURIES

Sports statistics show that only boxing has a  higher incidence of eye injuries than the "racket sports". Therefore, you should wear some type of eye protection when you participate in these sports. Standard glasses are NOT adequate for these sports.

FRAMES

Dress Frames: Standard frames are referred to as "dress frames". They are not made to withstand the impact that can occur in the above mentioned sports.

Sport Frames: Special frames especially designed for sports are available. These frames are designed to withstand a greater impact, and not to cut the face when a blow is received.

LENS OPTIONS

Polycarbonate Lenses: These are the most impact-resistant lenses available. It is recommended that only this type of lens be worn for "racket sports".  Also, the lenses should be made to "safety thickness" standards.
